Over 10,000 Pounds of Pork and Beef Products Recalled

There are two active recalls on pork and beef products right now, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS). This is due to production issues leading to mislabeling on the products.

First, approximately 7,485 pounds of raw Italian pork sausage is being recalled in three states: Delaware, Maryland and Pennsylvania. The recalled sausage included an “Old World Italian Sausage” label. They were produced and sold at deli counters in the affected region from October 3, 2024, through December 19, 2024, without the benefit of FSIS inspection. Check your refrigerator, and dispose of any raw sausage bought from a deli counter if it matches the recall information. While there are no infections connected to this recall, if you are experiencing any illness after consuming the recalled product, talk to your healthcare provider.

The FSIS also announced a recall on 3,132 pounds of Ralph’s Circle R branded Garlic Bologna, which may have been sliced and sold at deli counters at grocery locations in Oklahoma since September 2022. The ready-to-eat bologna is being recalled due to undeclared dairy in the product, which is a common allergen.

While there are no consumer complaints connected to this recall, those who are allergic to dairy could experience an allergic reaction as severe as anaphylaxis after eating this product. This includes symptoms like hives, swelling, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, hoarse voice, tightness of the throat and cardiac arrest.
