The key to keeping skin firm? “Think slow, steady weight loss,” says Dr. Peredo. “When skin has time to adapt, there’s less sagging.”
Dr. Capraro emphasizes that it’s not just about dropping pounds. “You’re not just losing fat; you’re also losing muscle and nutrients,” he explains. That’s why he recommends prioritizing protein, strength training and keeping an eye on inflammation, hemoglobin and vitamin levels.
“The medication may kick-start the transformation, but what comes next matters just as much,” says Austin, TX plastic surgeon Johnny Franco, MD, who has lost 90 pounds using GLP-1s. “This isn’t just a medication; it’s a second wave in aesthetics. While we’re seeing younger patients with mature issues, the early use of biostimulants and regenerative therapies makes a huge difference.”
