Bonafide’s 2025 ‘State of Menopause Report’ Reveals Women Are Still Suffering in Silence

Although there’s been marked improvement over the past five years, there’s still plenty of room to grow.

The 2025 report found that 59 percent of women aged 40 to 49 had never even heard of perimenopause until they began experiencing the symptoms. Furthermore, 71 percent of women report feeling unprepared for how disruptive symptoms are to their life.

The report found that half of women aged 40 to 49 say their menopause symptoms “caused them to feel ‘not like themselves,’ changing their mood, mind and expectations for the future.” The effects extend beyond women’s personal life, with three in four women reporting that perimenopause has negatively affected at least one aspect of their work life, and one in five saying it impacted their income.

While, unfortunately, perimenopause can’t be skipped completely, the symptoms can be managed, which could make a significant difference in women’s quality of life.
