Cheese Recalled in Canada Due to E. Coli Contamination

There’s an active recall on two types of cheese sold in multiple Canadian provinces, according to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. This is due to a possible E. coli contamination.

The cheese products affected are the Jean Perrin-branded Morbier de Scey and Raclette de Scey cheeses. They include the following information (note that the impacted cheese types may have been sold without labeling, so check with your place of purchase if you have one of these cheese types on hand):

• Jean Perrin Morbier de Scey with UPC “3324440317786,” lot number “35112” and best-by date of “06/03/2025.”
• Jean Perrin Raclette de Scey with UPC “3324440418896,” lot number “35511” and best-by date of “10/03/2025.”

These cheeses were sold in the following provinces, and potentially other provinces and territories: Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba and Quebec. Recall authorities in France and Hong Kong have also issued recall notices for these cheeses. Check your kitchen for these cheeses, and if you have one of the recalled products on hand, dispose of it immediately or return it to your place of purchase for a refund.

While there are no illnesses currently connected to this recall, E. coli infection can be serious for children, the elderly and immunocompromised individuals. Common symptoms include low-grade fever, nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps and diarrhea. Contact your doctor if you are experiencing any of these signs after eating the recalled cheese.
