Christina Ricci Is the Face of Merit’s New ’90s-Inspired Eyeshadow

Casper. Now & Then. The Addams Family. Mermaids. Sleepy Hollow. If there was a movie Gen X and millennials loved in the 1990’s, Christina Ricci starred in it. Ask the same generation today what their favorite beauty brand is and I’d confidently guess a solid majority would say MERIT Beauty. The brand’s high-quality and minimalist makeup ethos would fit right onto the faces of quintessential ’90’s superstars—Ricci, Demi Moore, Kate Moss, Jennifer Aniston, Cameron Diaz—then and now.

In a *chef’s kiss* of beauty partnerships, MERIT Beauty announced Ricci as the official face of its soon-to-be-launched new makeup, Solo Shadow Sheen, a six pot collection of creamy, pearlescent eyeshadows inspired by the 1990’s. MERIT’s second-ever eyeshadow formula (the follow-up to the best-selling Solo Shadow Matte) is made with microfine pearls, “(not glitter,” emphasizes the brand), “so you’ll actually reach for it every day, not just on special occasions.” (But if you are looking for elegant, non-boring holiday makeup, this is IT.)

Solo Shadow Sheen officially launches October 22, but here’s the scoop.
