Heidi Klum has been on an extraordinary run lately. From returning to Project Runway and joining a stellar cast of judges to walking the runway at Le Défilé 2025—L’Oréal Paris’ signature fashion show—there’s been no slowing down.

In the midst of it all, the supermodel also became the face of the brand’s Age Perfect Midnight Cream. Throughout her career, Klum has always been honest about her beauty. In fact, her unapologetic nature is what makes her so relatable. This time around, she’s bringing that same charisma to skin care. With her latest partnership, she embraces maturing gracefully at any age.

In an intimate chat, the supermodel turned TV personality shares the routine and rituals she swears by, as well as what it means to be part of L’Oréal’s legacy beauty brand.

L’Oréal is such an iconic brand. What drew you to work with them?

“I’ve been a fan of the brand for many years, and it’s been amazing coming together with women from all over the world to celebrate this iconic brand. One of the things I’ve always admired about L’Oréal is how they celebrate mature women. I think about seeing Andie MacDowell with her silver hair in the ads or Jane Fonda walking the runway at the L’Oréal Paris’ show, and I love how empowering it is. That’s not something we were previously seeing from beauty brands. L’Oréal was one of the first to put that spotlight on older women and has continued to do so. Seeing that inspired me. We’re customers at any age, whether you’re in you’re twenties, thirties or fifties, and we all want to find products that work for our skin. 25 isn’t my bracket anymore, and it’s nice to see routines dedicated to what my skin needs at 52, or what other women may be looking for as they get older.”

What does it mean to age gracefully?

“I feel like my skin has changed a lot over the years. Now that I’m 52, I’m learning that what my skin needs most is nourishment. I’m a big believer in saying ‘great skin comes from within’, and how we nourish our bodies on the inside and outside is important. At home, I cook a lot and make healthy meals and snacks for my family. I also drink a lot of water, but feeding my skin is just as essential. When I discovered the L’Oréal Age Perfect Midnight Cream ($37), it had everything my skin needed. It’s rich, hydrating, and gives my skin lots of moisture, which is important because nobody wants dry skin. I also love how it feels when I’m applying it and that it’s not heavily fragranced. I like to think that it fixes me overnight.”

How do you incorporate L’Oréal’s mantra into your life?

“I think I live my life very unapologetically. Whether in fashion, beauty or the things that I do, I always want that to come across. To me, that’s what [L’Oréal’s mantra] ‘You’re worth it’ means. It celebrates individuality and allows us to be who we want to be without having to fit into a box. I try to convey the same. The beauty of that sentence and L’Oréal is that people will always see themselves and someone they admire in the brand. They highlight what it means to be beautiful and different.”

What’s your secret for glowing skin?

“You have to find a regimen that works for you. For me, it’s about balancing a healthy lifestyle with topical products that are advantageous and feel yummy on my skin. The Age Perfect Midnight Cream is rich and has loads of ingredients for skin that’s aging like mine, and it makes me feel well taken care of. Sleep is also important, and not just getting enough of it, but also resting well. I have a friend who only sleeps on her back, looking up. I’m trying to train myself to do that, but it’s very hard. I like the idea of it, though—keeping the pillow from squishing lines in your face and nourishing your skin while your body rests.

If I’m on the go, I like to use the L’Oréal Lumi Le Glass Sticks ($13). They’re perfect for highlighting everywhere and giving you a nice pop of glow. You can use it down the center of your nose, on your cheekbones and above your lip. I also like to apply it to my collarbone to give it a nice little pop.”

Skin care aside, what are some of your favorite L’Oréal products?

“There’s quite a bit [laughing], but I totally stand by them and the price point. Like I said in the Age Perfect Midnight Cream commercial, luxury doesn’t always have to be expensive. The Faux Brow eyebrow pen ($13) has become my best friend these days. It’s possible that I over-plucked my brows in the ‘90s because they don’t look as good as I want them to now, especially the tail. I’ve always drawn them in with a pencil, but pencils don’t really look like hair, and I think we all sort of got used to this shadow brow. The Faux Brow pen is like a beauty sharpie. It has two super-fine tips that draw soft strokes that actually look like hair and create a natural-looking brow.

I also really love the Voluminous Panorama mascara ($16). I feel like you talk with your eyes, and lashes are everything. I was a die-hard fan of the Telescopic mascara ($15), but I’m glad I switched. Panorama has a much more dramatic look, especially when you do the top and bottom lashes. My daughters only use mascara on the top lashes to get that narrow cat-eye look, but I prefer a doe-eyed look. So I always apply to the top and bottom lashes. I feel like it gives the illusion of a bigger and rounder eye shape.

The Infallible 3-Second Setting Mist Spray ($14) and the Blur-Fection Setting Powder ($16) are also game-changers if you wear a lot of makeup and need it to last all day. The powder gives you a pore-less look and makes your makeup look as though you’re wearing a filter. That, combined with the setting spray, will ensure you look great after a long day. You spray it over your makeup in the morning, as a finishing spray, and your makeup doesn’t move all day.”
