Teddi Mellencamp Says All of Her Stage 4 Brain and Lung Tumors Have ‘Shrunk’

Teddi Mellencamp just shared some really positive news regarding her cancer journey. The 43-year-old Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum took to Instagram on April 23 to share that all of her tumors have “shrunk” following a three-year battle with melanoma (a form of skin cancer) that metastasized and spread to her brain and lungs.

“One update I couldn’t wait to share,” Mellencamp captioned the post. “All tumors stage 4 (metastasized melanoma in my brain and lungs) shrunk or disappeared so I have 6ish more weeks of immunotherapy and doctors believe I will be healed if everything stays on course. Thank you to everyone who has sent their love, prayers, and positivity.”

In the accompanying video, Mellencamp explains that, while her treatment isn’t over just yet—she has two more immunotherapy sessions—her doctors believe this to be a positive turning point in her journey. “I just finished with all my scans and my tumors have significantly shrunk, which doctors believe means that this all will work and that I will be back to myself and feeling good,” she says.

Mellencamp was diagnosed with stage 2 melanoma back in 2022, after having a mole removed from her back (her RHOBH co-star, Kyle Richards, is the one who initially told her to get the mole checked out). She’s had 17 surgeries to remove cancerous growths and has since become a spokesperson for the Melanoma Research Foundation while advocating for getting regular skin checks. Shortly after revealing that she hadn’t had to have a biopsy in “over two years” following regular doctor visits back in December, the reality star gave an emotional update via social media in February, sharing that she had to have emergency surgery for multiple tumors that were found on her brain. Her doctors discovered the tumors after she had been experiencing “debilitating headaches” for several weeks.

“Yesterday the pain was unbearable and required hospitalization,” she wrote on Instagram. “After a CT scan and MRI, doctors found multiple tumors on my brain, which they believe have been growing for at least six months.”

Mellencamp later revealed that more tumors were found on her lungs and heart following her surgery. In her most recent update regarding her tumors disappearing, she shared that she’s going to “keep a positive outlook,” because “that’s what my doctor just spoke to me.”
